Are Akita dogs endangered?

Look at those cute Akita-Inu.Akita-Inu is the one of the cutest dogs and well-known in Japan. However, registered Akita-Inu was only around 2,628 in Japan at 2016. 2,628 means almost same number as Giant Panda, wild Giant Panda were 1,864 in 2015 and captive Giant Panda were 633 in 2020. ONE FOR AKITA project http://www.saveakita.or.jp/ofa/is trying to save Akita-Inu lives and future since 2019. This organization explains why Akita-Inu is getting endangered.
