My first business trip

My first business trip

Good afternoon everyone, it’s Bao again.I am so excited to announce that I ……………have a chance to participate in the first business trip in my life to Tohoku, Japan. The trip lasts for 2 days and today, I would love to share with you about my first day of business trip. But before that, let’s have a quick flash back with me!!Where I am working now?I officially became a member of a start-up IT company in Tokyo called Freewill since April, 2021. From this year, we will have more than 200 members coming from different regions and backgrounds. And our Japanese members are really passionate about working globally and that’s the reason I’m here.We aim to altogether with domestic Japanese step toward globalization and build own Sustainable eco Society through IT innovation. I’d love to do my best to contribute to development of the company, expand our services and enhance self-development.As the company’s name is Freewill, we do care so much about our free will. And that’s why I am able to grab a chance to join this first business trip in my third month working here.My first business trip - Day 1: at MORIUMIASUThe trip’s objective is to build a stronger team, find new potential business partners, expand our services while traveling to Tohoku area to learn more about Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in 2011.The first day destination is “MORIUMIASU”, which means “Forest, Ocean and Tomorrow” in English. It’s located in Ogatsu-cho (Ogatsu town), and surrounded by both forest and ocean. This is the main reason why the people here are so passionate about caring for nature and surrounding environment. It is said that 80% of the towns in Ogatsu-cho, Miyagi Prefecture, were destroyed by the Great East Japan Earthquake. The population of the town, which used to be home to about 4,300 people, has decreased to about 1,000 after the earthquake. As Moriumius' founding members visited the site after the Great East Japan Earthquake 2021 as volunteers, they deepened their relationship with Ogatsu town’s local people and discovered a 1994 wooden building which was left in the town in 2013. The wooden building, surrounded by mountains and standing quietly on a hill overlooking Ogatsu Bay, seemed to be a new great learning ground.Taking the advantage of the place, over two years with a total of 5,000 volunteers, Moriumius has been born in 2015 with the hopes of contributing to the Great East Earthquake Reconstruction of many locals and people from all over the world. The founders want to create an opportunity to open up the future of children staying in Moriumius by interacting with people who live in rich nature and magnificent places, achieving a new form of education.IMPRESSIONSI am from Vietnam and there is almost no earthquake in the country. I have never experienced any earthquake in Vietnam and every information that I’ve known is all through news and media. This trip was my first time to see the earthquake and tsunami remains with my own eyes, which I will never forget it.I will bring what I have experienced here back to Vietnam, share with my family, friends and everyone to have them know more about Japan, not only the earthquake but also how Japan revives the area, the country after the severe disaster.Besides, Moriumiasu made me surprised that they put effort into education as after earthquake revival. People, including me, always think that we should focus on economic recovery instead of anything else. That’s what makes Moriumius special, to me and to the world. Taking care of children and local people, connect them all together as a community, all together get through the loss which earthquake and tsunami in 2021 brought to the region.I had a lot of fun and learned a lot through this business trip, got to know more about other Freewill members.I am confident to say that there are just few companies out there let their fresh graduates go on a business trip like us.I got this chance and I would love you to have that too.Time is limit so please don’t waste it.See you in the next article.https://youtu.be/G59vX
